Sketches of Sensorium

For the World Ocean

Sketches of Sensorium" is a 360° short film that takes viewers on a journey from space to the bottom of the ocean, raising awareness about the current impacts on the world's oceans. From sea level rise and ocean acidification to overfishing and plastic pollution, this experience covers crucial environmental issues. Inspired by the late ecological artist Newton Harrison, "Sketches of Sensorium" is narrated by a personification of the ocean and presents these topics in a powerful, dramatic manner. Developed in collaboration with the University of California, Santa Cruz's Center for the Study of the Force Majeure, the Allosphere, and Almost Human Media, "Sketches of Sensorium" aims to evoke creativity and foster a deeper understanding of ocean conservation among students, general audiences, and scientists alike.

"Sketches of Sensorium" premiered in 2024 at the Bioneers conference, was showcased at the Wall Street Journal's Future of Everything Festival, and at the RIO2C conference in Brazil, emphasizing its significance in the field of immersive educational experiences. Designed to be a deeply felt experience, the project encourages interaction and exploration of ocean recovery solutions.
